History of the Richardson Symphony League
The Richardson Symphony Guild was organized in 1966 by Mrs. Phillip K. Bates, Jr., Mrs. Harold Buttram, Mrs. Ray Perryman, Mrs. James Sheets, Mrs. David Shriro and Mrs. Don Zimmerman. That spring, the Guild hosted the first Fantasia Ball. The Symphony Ball has grown to become the largest of several fundraising events.
The organization changed its name to the Richardson Symphony League in 2000. The volunteers serve the Symphony through time, contributions, talent and resources, all with a desire to see the Symphony prosper as a cultural and civic force. Besides taking pride in supporting the highly-regarded RSO, members enjoy invitations to special events.
